Indian Bazar

The Indian Bazar is a nice little Indian foods store with a huge variety of spices and rice in bulk. A good selection of frozen and refrigerated products. My 2 favorite things to buy there are paneer and garlic naan. Often on Fridays and Saturdays they sell freshly made samosas. Very vegetarian friendly!!

The owner here helped me identify which lentils I enjoyed from my trip to India. From my photos, she was able to show me spice mixes to buy as well as frozen options to recreate the delicious meals I enjoyed there. Looking forward to shopping here again.

This post is the response from the review by MIC Amplus... I am thankful for your business but would you to research a bit about price hike. It is not only Indian Bazar that has to increases the price due to many factors including suppliers increasing the prices but producers and also increasing the prices. I understand you completely because at the end of the day customer gets the worst. Indian Bazar tries to do the best they can, but if you don't think you can get your price's worth, I suggest you not visiting the store anymore. You may not even know how hard it is to find the suppliers who would want to carry all the items that we do. You also may not know the existence of this store. IT was for community so our people can find the items they are used to. Present owner has been running the store for 13 years and only reason they even took the store was because previous owners were about to close it down due to health reason and Charlottesville would not have had any Indian Grocery Store at that time. Yes there are others now but they have not been here when no one was. I thank you for your business and hope you can come and talk about how hard it is to run small store in today's economy.

Good one for the Indian grocery in Charlottesville. Pretty much they have everything here. This will be my go to place for Indian groceries as I just moved here from a different state. For now I am happy with this place. I wish they had desi yogurt and more fresh vegetables.

Lovely store with plenty of selection to chose from. The lady working behind the register is very kind and helpful; in fact several items didn’t have clearly marked prices and she happily scanned each item to tell the exact prices. All in all, good experience and I will be back again!
